REMINDER: LIBRARY LEGISLATIVE DAY IS WEDNESDAY APRIL 3, 2006
Remember that this Wednesday, April 5, 2006, is Library Legislative Day on Beacon Hill! If you care about libraries in Massachusetts, make sure you plan to come and speak to your legislators about funding for our libraries.
The Massachusetts Library Association is seeking increases in all library line items in the State Budget this year, and we cannot accomplish this goal without your help, support and action.
Legislative Day is free, no pre-registration is required, and all library supporters are invited to attend. We urge library supporters to come for all or part of the day, pick up information packets available, attend briefings that will inform you about library funding requests this year, and make sure you visit your legislators' offices to talk about funding. Alternatively, invite legislators and/or aides to join you at our luncheon in the State House Great Hall at noon, and talk to them about library funding over lunch.
If you are coming to Legislative Day, also make sure you visit our State Library, which is celebrating its 180th anniversary this week, and think about attending the Massachusetts Center for the Book's "Letters About Literature" Awards taking place in the morning.
Please make your voice heard for Library Funding in Massachusetts...come to Library Legislative Day! Bring a colleague, Friend or Trustee with you!
