Message from the ACLU:

We just learned that the hearing on the Civil Liberties REsoultion will be in Gardner Auditorium on Wednesday June 22. We need to fill the auditorium! Please plan to be there to supprt the Bill of Rights - the REAL Patriot Act!

Details:

10 AM: Gardner Auditorium Hearing on HB 1881 -- the Resolution Affirming the Civil Rights and Liberties of the People of Massachusetts. Please get there well BEFORE 10 AM because of the security check. The Gardner Auditorium entrance is on Bowdoin Street 97 on the right of the State House if you are looking at it with your back to the Boston Common.

12 noon: Rally near the main steps of The State House. It is CRUNCH TIME for the Constitution, as the Bush Administration is now pushing Congress to renew the sunset provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act and EXPAND the Act's powers. We need to push back by making Massachusetts the 8th state to pass a post 9/11 civil liberties resolution. Let's pack Gardner Auditorium and fill the Boston Common on June 22!

If you can't be there, please contact your state senator and representative and ask them to support HB 1881. You can find out if they are already on board through the ACLU of Massachusetts website. If you don't know who your state representatives are, go to http//www.wheredoivotema.org. Please make those calls!

THIS IS A VOTE WE CANNOT AFFORD TO LOSE. For more information, email nancy@aclu-mass.org or see http://www.aclu-mass.org.
